Undertaking litigation, drafting and advice for trustees, employers and members.

We are a leading set of chambers in the field of pensions, both contentious and non-contentious. Chambers & Partners describe us as a set which offers a “breadth of expertise in pension disputes” and is “regularly instructed in the most headline-grabbing cases”.

Our members include experienced QCs and junior practitioners, who are active members of the Association of Pension Lawyers. Our expertise in the related fields of trusts, tax and professional negligence complements our pensions practice.

“ Members also have experience in acting in an advisory role in relation to matters arising under various statutory pension schemes, such as those relating to local authority or NHS employees. ”

    Litigation
Members of Chambers are frequently instructed to act in leading pensions cases. Recent examples include the IBM, BT, Merchant Navy Ratings Pension Fund, and KMPG litigation. Members have also acted in a number of the RPI/CPI cases.

    Public Bodies
Members have experience of advising public bodies such as the Pension Protection Fund, the Pensions Regulator and the Bank of England. They have also acted in the defence of those who are targets of the Pensions Regulator’s moral hazard powers, an example being the proceeds concerning the Lehman Brothers pension scheme following the group’s financial collapse.

    Regulatory Matters
Members are involved in regulatory matters for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

    Negligence etc.
Members have experience of negligence and other claims against pensions professionals, including trustees, actuaries and other advisers.
